After working in New York he returned home and built bKash into one of the world's largest mobile money services.

Kamal Quadir founded CellBazaar, a mobile marketplace that Telenor bought in 2010, and the same year founded bKash, which he still leads as chief executive. bKash now serves tens of millions of customers across Bangladesh.

He chose to return to Bangladesh after working in New York. He was named Social Entrepreneur of the Year by the Schwab Foundation in 2015 and ICT Business Person of the Year in Bangladesh in 2021 and 2025. He studied at Oberlin College and earned an MBA at MIT Sloan.
